m5 Group of Companies Announces New Ownership

Atlantic Canada’s largest marketing communications group has announced a change in leadership. The new ownership team takes over for previous owners, Gary Wadden and Derek Langdon, who have led the company for the past 30 years. Under their leadership, m5 has grown from a local agency in St. John’s to a group of companies operating in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and New Hampshire.

“The time for the next generation to step in has come. We are very pleased that members of our existing senior management team will be the new owners,” said Gary Wadden. “I have worked with these individuals for many years and have confidence that they are the team to take the m5 group of companies into the future.”

Susan Clarke, Heather Dalton, Rick Rouah, Carolyn O’Keefe and Chris MacInnes will take ownership as of February 1, 2018. All members have been part of the group’s management team for many years and are experienced leaders in their respective fields of marketing, communications, market research and public affairs. The new ownership team will be located throughout Atlantic Canada and underscores the organization’s commitment to a strong regional presence.

“We are all excited for this new chapter for the m5 group of companies”,” said Heather Dalton. “While this is a change and a restructuring of our executive, it’s business as usual for our clients. There will be no service disruption. We are a management
team that is already familiar with our clients and have deep connections in the Atlantic Provinces. We have a tremendously talented group of employees across our organization. Together we will continue to produce great work for our clients,” said Dalton.
